Formal Risk Management and ISO 9001:2015?

Does ISO 9001:2015 require a formal risk management approach as does ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001? A number of certification body auditors seem to insist on this. In fact,  ISO 9001:2015 says in Annex A.4 “there is no requirement for formal methods for risk management or a documented risk management process”. Consensus is keep it simple and don’t over complicate, you can always build on the risk approach later as the system matures by looking at tools such as FMEA etc.
