SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing Edition 8

SQF Food Safety Code for Manufacturing Edition 8 has recently been published.  Some of the changes include the following:

  1. As with other management system changes, there is greater emphasis on Senior Management responsibilities and duties.
  2. Complaint Management requirements are now mandatory – these were not mandatory in previous versions of the SQF code.
  3. There are significantly more detailed requirements specifying how Food Safety Plans need to be prepared in accordance with the twelve steps identified in the Codex Alimentarius Commission HACCP guidelines.
  4. Food Fraud prevention controls, including a food fraud vulnerability assessment and a food fraud mitigation plan, are now required.
